It's the first day of actually getting to drive this car he has wanted for years and worked on for months! They just got it back from the mechanics after getting the clutch done... He just got his license last week! SUCKS ! Any ideas?

Is this the same place that said go to ford? I doubt anything happen. I'm sure it would of started knocking if it was empty.
Did anyone check out where the leak is coming from?

Yeah and it didn't make sense that it was oil really. Turns out it was transmission fluid. The mechanic said that the seal on the slave cyclinder needs to be replaced and that is why it was leaking. Does this make sense?

Are they going to fix it for free? Sounds like they might of did something when they where in there. Maybe search to see if that can be damaged somehow during clutch replacement. I'm not personally sure about the MTX, or what is behind the workings of it totally. But if you could locate info on how the job is done, you might be able to find out if they might of did something wrong.

Well they pulled the transmission to do the clutch obviously and so he is taking the blame and fixing it for free. It would be hard for him to act like it wasn't him since it was fine until he pulled the transmission to do the clutch and now transmission fluid is leaking.

Whoa! Hold up, just curious, but what clutch did you install? Sounds like a Zetec slave cylinder was installed which will give out in just a few miles.
A new clutch comes with the slave cylinder and probably came with the wrong one.
Also, I'm calling BS in this somewhere. A leaky slave cylinder would be leaking BRAKE fluid, NOT TRANNY fluid. Go kick this guy in the nuts when he finishes with the car.

haha yeah I'm thinking that I might have to. All he said was that the seal on the slave cylinder was "defective" and that's why it was leaking. whatever the hell that means...

Ok, but if he said it's leaking transmision fluid, then you need to get him away from your car ASAP.
