hi i just ordered a b&m short throw shifter and was looking at this momo shift knob.

http://www.shop.com/op/aprod-p31998147-k24-g4-~momo+shift+knob-nover?sourceid=3

i was wondering if:
1)it will fit the short throw shifter
2)it it is compatible with the lockout ring
3)if anyone has it and their opinions on it.
any comments would be greatly appreciated

1. Yes
2. No
3. Momo makes some awesome quality shift knobs, but way overpriced in my opinion. Save your money for a shift knob that looks just as good or better, and get one from a Cougar. Will work with reverse lockout also.

I bought a Focus knob on ebay.. its just their normal stockie for the new models but it looks sweet... its dark grey with a brushed aluminum top insert and still retains the reverse lock out.

Any of the Cougar knobs from BAT, INC will work as well... in my opinion the Focus knob looks the best though.

I used the Cougar knob. Got it from the Ford dealer for around 50 bucks. Looks nice and works with the reverse lock out. There are some pictures of the knob installed in this post.

i got rid of the reverse lock out. i dont even see why they even made it. it just complicates gettign a better knob. here is a suggestion. get wgatever knob you like. take the reverse lock out plastick of the lever and take the leather off the plastic too. use some zip ties to creat somethign to hold the leather where you want it on the shifter lever. you can use some shoe string on the leather to tie it down. tie it down real tight to the lever but do it inside out so the shoe lace stays hidden on the inside of the leather. slide it down to where the zip ties keep it from going down any further. or you could weld some kind of washer to the lever to make a stop point for the shifter leather. i cut my shifter down real low cause it was annoyingly long.

I think the reverse lock-out is there to prevent mistaking it for a gear. I'm pretty sure that with MTX75s the reverse gear uses the same syncro as 2nd and 4th. I'm not sure about this but it seems right.

I also removed my reverse lockout to expand my options with knobs. The lock-out ready knobs are few and pretty expensive. one problem with removing the lock-out is finding a way of keeping the boot up against the knob. I solved this problem using a spring. looks pretty good eh?

my voodoo knob was 30 and another 20 to engrave it. i dont think theres a better knob for the tour. perfect ball of powdercoated aluminum that fits in my palm and retains reverse lockout. plus the steeda aluminum lockout looks cool below the pc'd black knob
