So my Contour has a leaky compressor and I have no AC in the car. I recentally bought an R134a kit and put 2 cans of the stuff in my car. Nice, cold air shot out of the vents as I went to check the success of my doing. Not even 24 hours later, no AC. Only hot air. Guess its 4 windows down and 70 mph for me. Just thought I'd share.

check the accumulator for rust ...  stupid foam ...

That happened to my sister's car, the new one has No Foam. I should remove the foam from mine, I just fixed the a/c and it would be nice to keep it going..

the A\C is only used if wearing a suit or other special occasions, like passengers who complain about there hair in the wind!

Screw that! You obviously haven't ever had to drive around sans A/C when the temp is 105! It ain't pleasant!

ya it is rarely 105 here and if it was that hot my a/c would be on too.

i can imagine, i can feel a power loss when it kicks in, i thought something was wrong with my car the first few cycles.
