Well I have the notorius hum on left hand turns and some vibrations on the highway from 80km-120-km anything under or over those numbers No vibration,, Anyway anyone in Ottawa area familiar with Wheel Bearing changes? Money is tight and I am not looking forward to having a garage do it? Is it something that can be done by a couple of DYI's in an afternoon?

The bearing needs to be pressed in, so you would need a press. I feel your pain, I just paid a shop to change my front passenger side one and it broke a month after... And now the left one broke too. I'm about to put the zetec on blocks in the backyard to steal its knuckles (they have good bearings in them)

I just replaced my driverside front a couple of weeks ago. You definately need a hydrolic press to remove and install the bearing. I did it at a friends machine shop with his assistance. $60 for the bearing was my only expense. BTW if the bearing is not pressed in corectly it will quickly fail. Talk to Stazi, he works for SKF (bearing manufacturer) and he sells knuckles with the bearing already pressed in.

I just had my driver's side bearing done yesterday and a complete brake job. Hooray for $276 labour. And $245 in parts.
