Im building up a 3L for my Cougar and had a question on oil pans, pick-up and trays. The 3L motor is a 02 Sable. I will be using no oiling parts from my 2.5L so please dont say just use them.

Does my 3L have the newest pick-up and tray??? Which after hours of searching is YL8E Windage Tray and YL8E Pickup RIGHT? If not whats the newest one?

Now what pan do i need? I know the 5L8E oil pan comes with the pan, gasket & all hardware but does it bolt up to my 02 Sable 3L??

I have been hours of searching like an good motor builder should but my head is going to EXPLODE b/c i keep reading the same thing but doesnt hit me as right. THANK YOU

Escape = YES

Just call Bill Jenkins and tell him you need the latest 3.0L Escape pan/gasket/pickup/dipstick/windage tray and you will get what you need.

Again, the Sable/Taurus uses a completely different pan that can not be used. Therefore, the pickup is different ... can't say about the windage tray though. However, Bill will take back a part that isn't opened as long as you ask him beforehand. You can visually compare them when the tray comes in ... if yours is the same, ship it back for a refund.

So my dipstick thats on my 3L is no good?

Someone else will have to chime in ... I'm unsure.
