My svt, as it's setup (and I'm not spending money/time changing everything), wasn't any good for autox. Unfortunately this probably means I'll probably not being autoxing for a long time (after this month). I need to save some money anyways.

I've done street tires and I want to learn something else. STX2 in an NB may be an option sometime soon, and hot dang would that be a fun street/autocross car. I love the NB look and extra power for the street.

No, not this time, unfortunately.

ES is fun. It can be cheap once you get the car setup (just get some nice revalved Koni's and go with it)

I think I'll grab some used Konis, get a year in on them, and revalve/rebuild them when I'm up to snuff. I need to find those used ones in a hurry, though - my right front shock is GONE.

I meant the RT-615 I guess it was wishful typing. I think with a little setup the hankook can be just as good as the falken. Most of the testing I have seen has been with the 205/205 the 225 is actually about the same size as the 205 falken so I think it will compare better. I like that hankook supports the sport unlike falken.

Yeah, no kidding. I don't know why Falken doesn't try to drum up support. The 225 does look promising, and the price is right. Let me know how it goes - I may snag a set for street/rains (they have a 14, right?).

Try to learn to drive around it. It's frustrating at first, but you'll learn a lot.

Oh I know there is a lot left in my driving that could get my times down in it, but I don't like the feel and it's not close to competive. Unlike my escort, which nationals have been won in once or twice. The main thing is, it just wasn't fun like my escort.

I love it on twisty roads though, so I'm not just dumping it. Just keeping it to what's fun for me. Maybe one day I'll get it out to a road course.

The contour is a lot more fun on wide open courses than a tight course. I ran it with the local mazda club at my first ever event and felt like I was always understeering. But running it on a more wide open course like the DC SCCA or Cumberland Airport was a lot more fun.

107.5" is a LONG wheelbase for super-tight corners. I get real sick of tight courses around here, but at Seneca it's nice. I'm looking forward to the Glen.

Yeah I ran it a couple weekends ago on a very very tight course and it all it did was understeer. I'm running it again at the end of the month and a faster, more open course, so hopefully I'll have a little more fun.

Doublecheck that thread.

Somehow my account got reinstated, so I no longer have to use a shill account. I'm too old to get involved in discussions involving drifting anyway, so I just ignore them. Prolly should have done that from the getgo. That's the plan going forward.

So much for a simple rib poke for you, this thread got way too serious. Bench racing. Hahahaha.

Thankfully I have Buckley, Peterson, Feinberg and Barnes taking my shocks to Topeka for revalving on the cheap. It's good to have fast friends.
