It has been a long time since I have touched a regular(stock) motor. Could someone tell me how much slack the cable has when the car is just sitting? Like is it pretty much pulled tight?

I am talking about the piece of the cable that hooks onto the springed quadrant for the 2ndaries.

I had to make a custom bracket for mine and I think I may have too much slack and that it doesn't pull as far as it should to open the 2ndaries all the way.

Could some one check for me?

I don't know how much slack it should have because mine snapped! Does anybody know how difficult to replace just the cable, or is there some way I can splice it back together!?!?!
