Anyone ever use one of those A/C Recharge kits from autozone (or similar store) on their tour? I need to recharge my A/C, but I'm feeling kinda cheap and I don't really want to pay what the dealership wants to do it.

Something tells me that it wasn't a one time thing

Mark, I just discovered that my A/C is not as cold as it should be either. So I'd be interested in taking the cheap alternative as well.

I just used one on my truck the other day. Was easy to do and appears to be working well. I bought the kit from Advanced that has a gauge to measure the low pressure side and has a reusable trigger mechanism for future refills. Autozone has a kit with gauges for both the high and low sides for about $75 - I'll probably pick that up next month.

Yep. They work pretty well. Remember to have the car running and A/C on while filling.

THose kits work good - but make sure you also buy one of those extra, small, cans that are the "Booster" - they make it run REALLY cold. I can't remember the proper name for that stuff, but you'll know it when you see it.

Never said I couldn't do it.. I'm asking if anyone else had done it and what their experience with it is.

Todd, Stazi, thanks for the heads up!
