I live near Oakbrook, and I'm looking for somebody/someshop to completely overhaul my '95 SE's MTX. I had a new clutch and throw-out bearing installed at 99k, the car now has 200k and it needs clutch, TO bearing, new synchros, needle bearings, forks... everything.

I want it to shift like new (or better). Can anyone recommend a local shop that employs Contour fanatics who can do this job without screwing up something?

Any recommendations on who to avoid??

Thanks.

Tony

i have rebuilt a few mtx 75's myself and might be willing to do it for you for well under what a shop would want. you would have to buy all the parts in advance. im in Glendale Heights, IL for school and am in need of a job anyways. email me excatly what you need done and i we can talk about this.

I had mine rebuild by forn a little over a year ago and it started acting up again earlier this year. paid them $200 for an O-ring and a gasket. and it still didn't shift right.

Anyways have it rebuilt iat Aamco in Lilse on Ogden. it was about 2K. that was with a new TC and the foaward and revease sun gears, plus valve body rebuld and update. 12k mile/12 month warranty. they did it in a week. but I didn't get it for more like 3, due to $$$. they even put a new battery in for me for free if I picked it up. which I did. I guess we'll see how this go round goes. I've gone though one tank of gas.. near the end of the week or next I'll take it back to them for the free follow up check up. It did drive funny at first for like a day or so and then really started to take off from a stop.

Hope this helps.

Aamco. This is for an MTX not an auto.
