I went ahead and picked up an ATV/motorcycle lift and 2 2X4's to lower my subframe out of my SVT with everything intact.

I'll let you guys know how it goes, cause before today.... I've always have taken the engine/trans out the top.

This method was pretty slick I pulled the basics off real quick, unhooked the brakes lines, unhooked the shift cables and slave cylinder's line, removed the strut top nuts and the 4 subframe bolts and lowered it on down.

The SF is sitting on 4 jack stands while the ATV lift holds the front of the car up, which makes for really easy access to the engine and trans

After pulling the engine and trans out the top 3 times, I would use this method from now on with out a doubt!

Pictures Please!

I have a nice aluminum ATV jack that I wouldn't mind getting double duty from.

My method was very similar to this.

After disconnecting everything needed under the hood, we connected the engine hoist to the engine, and jacked it up a little to pull tight. Then we used regular hydraulic jacks on the front jack points, but put a 2x4 between it for extra height. Unbolted the 4 subframe bolts, and slowly lowered the complete subframe with engine/tranny onto the bottom "legs" of the hoist.

Unhook the chain from the engine, and just wheel the complete subframe out the front of the car. Complete engine, tranny, subframe on wheels "to-go".
