Ok, It used to be that my Idle would race... (like 2-2.5k) then it got to the point where I would stall at any speed when I let off the gas and pushed into the clutch.. So I tried cleaning it. Now its back to racing again?!? Is this normal.. did I not clean it correcly/thoroughly?? I used brake cleaner by the way.. usually it does the same thing as carb cleaner..
Do I need to lubricate anything to get it to work correctly?

If you don't have any CEL codes, maybe it is time for a new IAC valve.

oh yes, I forgot I do have a CEL I had it pulled and cleared. One of my banks was too lean.. since being cleared it's come back. How does this play into things?

You probably have a vacuum leak if you got a lean code. Might have to do the carb cleaner spray test on gaskets, joints, etc. When you have a change in idle, you found your leak. What is the new CEL code?

I was getting the same code and the idle would race a bit as well. Mine was actually the lower intake gaskets being bad.

Do you ever get a fuel smell after coming off of the gas?

Yep. Happens. That's why I said time for rebuild. Just assuming one would get new gaskets. Get a new IAC as well. And ger a Ford part. Not aftermarket for that. Prolly one of the few factory parts to stick with.

2 month old IAC valve popped a leak on me. It was leaking from the metal cap part of it. It happened soon after I did the TH fix.

Actually I cleaned and rebuilt my UIM and secondaries about 20k ago and replaced the gaskets. Do you think this could still be the problem?
