Ok well I setup a group discount a lot of times for the Camaro club I belong to, but since I now have an CSVT I wanted to start driving that into the show.

So this post is to gauge an interest in who would like to go. Here are the details:

What: 2006 Car Craft Summer Nationals
Where: St. Paul, Minnesota at the State Fairgrounds
When: July 21-23

Registration $45 until July 7, 2006 (this gets you 2 3 day passes, a goodie bag, and a decal for your car to let you drive in and out as you please -- Really only $40 see below.

-------------------------------------
Buddy & Club Discount Program:
Don't forget to deduct money from your entry fee if you meet the requirements for our Buddy & Club Discount. Rustle up at least five members to enter at the same time by e-mail, mail or phone, and you each save $5.00 off the full pre-registration price. Anyone from the club who pre-registers after the initial group, gets the discount when they mention the name of your club. BRING A FRIEND AND SAVE too! When you and a friend (who has never entered a Special Events show) pre-register together, you both can save $5.00 off the full pre-registration price. -- It's our way of saying thanks for the referral. Only one discount per order. EACH DISCOUNT IS GOOD FOR PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY, NOT VALID WITH EARLY BIRD OR SPECIAL DISCOUNTS!
--------------------------------------

There will be a burnout contest, dyno (which is given at a discounted price typically for the first 20 people to register for it (each day)), bikini contest and huge prize giveaway.

This will not be all muscle cars. The last few years there has been a SRT Neon club that has gone a number of Taurus SHO's and a hand full of imports.

So please add your name to the list if you are interested in registering. We only need 4 people to get the discount program going and then the rest of you can call in whenever as long as it's before July 7th. I would like to have at least 15 cars show up to this. After I have a total of 5 people interested including myself I will setup the discount program.

OK...

So let me see if this list is correct...

1. Mike (CSVT#49)
2. Scott P (Sprebound)
3. Tony (Redlineracer12)
4. shineySVTfan
5. 98SVTtour

That would be five. Now I will need the information below so that we can get this all squared away. A lot of this is pretty detailed so I would like to meet up so we can take care of this stuff in person, or if you like you can email it to me. However since I have to register everyone at once I'll need the money from everyone as well (which is why meeting in person would work the best). With the discount it will be $40 to register .

Yeah, it would probably be a better idea imo to meet in person to do this. When and where?

Well... I'd almost like to do this at my house, so everyone can see me paying for the registration and getting the confirmation numbers out. However we could just meet at the MOA as well and I can just take your information. The cut-off for earlybird registration is July 7th so we need to act fast. Here are some options:

When: Wed. 7/5 at 6:30pm
Where: My house, which is in Coon Rapids just off of hwy 10

or

When: Wed. 7/5 at 6:30pm
Where: MOA east side parking lot on the top level.

To get the group discount we have to have 5 people register at once.

So then I guess we shall go with this one:

When: Wed. 7/5 at 6:30pm
Where: MOA east side parking lot on the top level.

Tony go ahead bring your laptop.

It's getting kind of close... and I have seen any replies... are you guys going to be able to make it?

Well in any case I'll be there. If you see this after 6pm and you are planning on coming but will be late give me a call as if no one is around I'm just going to go in the mall, (651)983-0002 or if you know you can't make it, but want to go give me a call and let me know and I'll see what I can do to work something out for you.

I got the 5th covered with my brother and if 98SVTtour doesn't get back with me (don't know why he wouldn't at this point) My other brother might be able to take his spot with his 03 FSVT.

Needless to say this did not get completed. No one showed up. There for I have nothing for you. I guess my brother and I will register and you guys are on your own to register yourself for the show. It will be $45 if you register before the end of Friday. Otherwise I think the price goes to $55 if you register at the gate.

Here is the link for the site to register.

If you have any questions feel free to PM or email me.

Yea once we figure out who all is going we should meet up before the show... well let me re-phrase that if we want to park next to each other, then we NEED to meet up before the show.

That place fills up fast and if we want a good parking spot (by the dyno stand) then we need to get there no later then 6:00am. Most people show up around 5-5:30am. The gates open up to the show at 7am or 8am, I forget which. Then the show opens up to the general public at 10am on Friday. We will be able to pick up our passes for the show starting Thurs afternoon, usually this starts around 12pm and goes till about 5pm. Although the details will come to you in an email or snail mail.

I would propose that we meet at the Perkins parking lot on Friday morning at 5:30am, and head to the show from there. I'll bring some caution tape and some posts to tape off our parking. This is a must if we plan to hold up the same area through out the show Fri-Sun.

Well that is a long drive I'm not sure if it would be worth it... unless you plan to do other stuff while your up here. I mean after the show closes (I believe 8 or 9pm?) a lot of people going cruising down University Ave, which is already a hot cruising spot. There are 100's of people down there on any give Fri/Sat night during the summer months. However I won't down-play the show either its fun. Lots of stuff going on open header cruises, burn-out contests, awards, giveaways and lets not forget the bikini contest. There is alos a dyno on site, which attracts a lot of cars. If my memory serves me correct last year fo NA cars there was a car that put down 989RWHP and then a forced induction car that put down 1460RWHP that was something to see. Also there are a lot of venders at the show with concept cars, parts and more to show off.

Bottom line its your decision whether to come, but it depends upon how much of a diehard gear head you are on whether it will be worth it or not.

I've gone the last 4 years and I've enjoyed it.

Well hell if no one is bringing their Contour to the show then I'm just going to drive my Camaro and meet with the Minnesota F-body club. I'm not going to be the only Contour at the show. I don't know if work is really an excuse either, you guys knew about the show far in advance and could have easily taken off 1 or 2 days for the show . Hell you could probably still take it off as you would be giving a week and a half notice. I don't know why I bother trying to arrange things if everyone just backs out at the end, freak'n ridiculous.

So is there anyone that is bringing their Contour to the show? I might reconsider... I may bring my CSVT one day and park over with the SVTOA TC club if I am the only one thats going. My brother will be bringing his CSVT but only to sell it from the sounds of things either that or he will sell his spot to another guy I know with an F-body.

i just started at my new company yesterday. its kinda early to ask for days off. i could, but i'd rather get in good with them first. i'll be with SVTOA most likely but i'd park with all the CSVT's if they are going.

Ok thats cool. It just seemed like everyone was bailing out.

So lets get a list started of whos going, what days you plan on attending and at what times to you plan to arrive. As I will most likely be there everyday from 6:00am - 4pm. I'll be bringing a small charcoal grill and some brats/burgers. I'm going to try to round up the "Caution" tape that I used last year to rope off some area. I might do this Thurs night so that we are guaranteed a spot in the morning.

Anyhow on to the list:

1.
Name/SN:Mike (CSVT#49)
Days attending: Fri., Sat. and Sun.
Times: Most likely from 6am - 4pm everyday(5pm on Sun to see if I win anything in the raffle)

2.
Name/SN:

Dude...I asked for the weekend off but I was unable to get it cuz there are two other people on vacation during that weekend. I work at the airport and we just went through layoffs and now are short staffed. I cannot predict the future which is why I said I would be in on going to the show when you asked about it last month. Stuff happens man, my apologies. I would for sure be there if I got the time off but as it is, I didn't and now I can't. Sheesh...

Understood. I just got a little on edge when everyone said they would go... I put the time in to try and get everything together... then no one seems to be able to make it... feeling of time wasted.

I would have thought that when everyone made the decision to go that people would have asked to get off of work on one or a few of the days. My first post was on May 13th, which was over two months advance notice. Most places require a 2 week notice for time off. I thought that would be plenty of time for people to fit it into there schedules. If you made the attempt to get off of work and crap happened well understood, if not, well poor planning on your part I guess.

I would've probably dropped everything and left my car alone if we would've gotten the 5 people together in the first place so i could enter with you guys like i said i would. But since we're not technically even going in as a group anymore i didn't see any reason that i needed to bail out on work. I was going to be in a rush to get my car ready anyhow...

Well from the sounds of things there will be atleast 3 CSVT there. You would be 4. Then I think there are a few from the SVTOA group. I guess we'll see. I still would like to meet up before we go into the show on Friday so we can all park next to each other.

I would like to. If anything it will be my brother, you and myself. I'll see if the SVTOA guys want to meet up there as well.

My car is going to be all nice and pretty for the show, the front bumper is getting repainted along with the Mirko splitter and the rear header will be installed this weekend woohoo!

I should have an answer by tomorrow afternoon hopefully about whether or not the SVTOA guys will be meeting at that Perkins or not. It sounds like they will be meeting somewhere... so if anything we could just meet with them.

As far as my car goes it's on the ground now with everything installed minus the front bumper and splitter. Hoping that will complete by tomorrow or Wed. I need to bleed the clutch and then its all done. Looks like my car should be a go.

Tony how's your car coming? Is there a chance you might make it still?

Ok here is the plan the SVTOA guys are meeting at the McDonalds over by Har Mar on Snelling (not exactly sure where that is as of yet) between 6am-6:45am with plans to leave for the show at 7am. I personally would like to leave for the show at 6:15am so I can hopefully get a spot on the dyno.

So who will be able to meet up at this McD's at 6am?

I'm going to be heading up there friday and sunday but the SVT won't be in the show. Too much money to spend for one or two days, I'll find a way to get there for the bikini contest though

Ok heres the update. My car is up and running and shifts smooth as hell with the new clutch/flywheel and the car now has a nicer rumble to it witht he WR headers installed. The front end looks real sharp now that I have the front bumper repainted (I'm not sure if I'll have time to fit up the Mirko splitter for the show). So my car will be making it to the show for sure now.

Matt if you meet up with the SVTOA and I at the McD's I'm sure we'll hold you a spot so when you get back you can still park with us. I'm not sure if I can guarantee you'll have the same spot, but you should have a spot.

Gabe are you bringing your car (If so let me know ahead of time so we can account for you)? Give me a call (651.983.0002) when you pull into the show and I'll let you know where we are. I think I should be able to hold a spot for you. Otherwise if your just walking in as a spectator I'll tell you where we are parked so you can meet up.

Also as it turns out because of the mixup with the transmission and my brothers CSVT (I posted about it in the transaxle forums) he will not be bringing his CSVT. However my other brother will be bringing his 02 SVT Focus. I think he is going to try and sell it too if anyone is interested.

See you guys tomorrow morning!

Leaving for the fairgrounds BEFORE 7AM.

#49 i missed you after the burnout comp.

i put my car on the dyno, slipping stock clutch and all. +100 shot. got 249 HP and 258 TRQ, the tech that ran it said that i should get a tune and a good clutch, he and some of the other guys working with him said i should be able to hit 300 HP and about 280 trq. (they think its healthy for some reason)
