We're always talking about clunks on our cars, so I thought I'd mention this. I don't know if this is also common on 98+, but I've seen this on my pre98 and another pre98.

The front end link nuts loosen up to the point where they're almost off.

Of course loose nuts,etc. are always the best place to start when looking for a clunk, but this may help narrow it down for those people that aren't as mechnically inclined.

Just a 17mm open end wrench and a 15mm wrench are needed to tighten them.
