I just finished my first subwoofer system install, and have to say it went much smoother than anticipated. I've installed many a head units and speakers before, but never subwoofers and an amp. My system sounds great! All I wanna do is sit in my car and listen to tunes! hehe
Specs: Pioneer DEH-3700MP Head unit Pioneer TS-A6871R 240w 3-way 6x8 Speakers (2x Front) Pioneer 120w 2-way 6x8 Speakers (2x Rear...can't remember model #) Pioneer GM-5200T 760w (125w RMS x 2) Amplifier 2x Pioneer TS-W301R 12" 800w Subwoofers Q-Logic Dual 12" Hatchback Box
I will post pics when I get a chance.
My only concern is somehow securing the sub box in place. So far, I've noticed it hasn't really moved at all with me driving, but I don't want to take any chances. Is it necessary to fasten down the subwoofer box? If so, how do y'all do it with still allowing the box to be removed in case ya need access to the spare tire?
Thanks.

Depending on your choice/applicability:
"L" shaped brackets secured to car, but positioned against the box will keep it from sliding. Placed on the trunk floor, and possibly on the underside of the rear deck, it will be secure enough for all but a space launch in your car.
adding two screws to the part of the brackets that are against the box itself will add to stability, and only increase removal time by a few minutes.

My pre-assembled subs came with two velcrow strips that hold my sub box in place very well, at least no crash boom bang yet.

I stapled rubber lining for cabinets on the underside of the box, and a bungee cord for extra support clipped to the rear seat hinges. the rubber is what keeps it in place, the bungee is mostly just to keep it from tipping over.
no crashes yet.

i built a fake floor that is tight inside, and then took the sub out of the box, and put about 6 screws down through it to secure it to the fake floor

I just bought online 4 6871 by pioneer, i was wondering how they sound? I have trouble with factory speakers cause their bass response is crap, so i just bought those to hope have no issues installing and i expect a much better sound that with factory speakers.
Are they worth it? Are they easy to install? i dont want to drill and mess around, im lazy lol.

I installed a pair of 6870s a couple of months ago. GREAT little speaker for the price! You'll love them compared to the stockers.
