Anyone know where the drain plug is on the 3.0L duratec in the Fusion/Milan. I would assume it's the silver plug in the bottom of the engine, but was used to the plug near the rear of the 2.5L, so just wanna make sure before I pull it to change the oil. Seems like an odd place - impossible to drain without getting it covered with oil.

I posted this on the Fusion site CD338.com, but it could take days before anyone reads it - not much traffic yet.

Hey, I'm no newbie. I did a search and couldn't find anything. So, it's in the same spot as the Contour? I'll have to look closer...

No pic. It's a shiny silver and it looked like it had a torx hole in it. Yeah, maybe it is the AT fluid plug. I'm glad I didn't pull that one by mistake. So when are you gonna sell the maintenance CD's for these cars? lol...

LOL! Yea torx bit would be the trans. drain. Only Contour CD's sorry. I remember Spatt pulled the trans. plug on his wife's Explorer a few years ago.

I remember more than once having a Festivia or it's replacement towed in with horrable trans noise (MTX) immediatley after an oil change. The clue to what had happened is that the dipstick showed the engine way overfull!!!

So I don't think you would be the first to make that mistake.

What do you think of the Fusion. I have not driven one yet. I keep hoping to get one as a rental car but it hasn't happened yet. I get a lot of GM stuff. Their stuff has really improved.
