Will the mystique 15" 6 spoked alloys clear the svt brakes? Would these be ideal for R compounds or would 16"s be a better idea?

I own 15s that clear the SVT brakes (ATS Comp Lite). My WAG is that it will -- check your donut spare's diameter and verify that it fits. If so, the Mystique 15s should. Test fit before the purchase (also check Focus 15s)

Are you thinking about 710s? You can save a good chunk of money with the 225/50R15s, and get better gearing and a lower GC. The 225/50R16s are wider, which would help (maybe a lot), but they'd be heavier. They'd help you with a higher top speed in 2nd, too.
Is this a stock SVT? If it's GS you're running, you need to stick with 16s.

I can barley stand the stock 16's (too small for me) why would you want to go smaller? I dunno how it would look though so I guess I'd have to see it.

I'll be doing a 3L swap soon enough.

Perhaps he's more concerned about how fast his car is than how it looks. I'm sure it's very difficult to make the sacrfice and not be blingin' for the eight hours each week these wheels will be on.
Man, Kremit... you get guff from me when you rice out your Zetec, and now you get guff from the stunnaz when you make it fast. It's a lose-lose situation, huh?

It's not for looks. Read the post, for R compounds.
Thanks for the info ya'll. If the deal with the mystique wheels go through and they fit, then I'll get them. If not, I'll save up for some light aftermarket 15"s, probably be best anyways to get a wider wheel, I imagine a 225 would be a snug fit on the mystique wheels.

Well, in that case, I'd get some 16x7.5s. You'll need all the meat you can get with that power. There are a lot of options, like wider 16s (or 15s), 17s, etc, but those are fairly common, hold a 225 710 well, and the gearing won't be an issue with 3L powa.
The 15s from a stock Contique are going to be way too narrow to do what you want. Remember the old Pontiac ads? Wider is better!
EDIT because Kremit posted while I was typing:
if you want to keep tire costs down, the 15s will help. I'd bet you'll need the top end more than the gearing, but since this isn't going to be a serious SM car, it doesn't matter that much anyway, right? I'd really look for wider ones, though. They're only 6", right? That's really pushing it.

Yeah the preference of 16" wheels are stuntin.....
His first post is rather vague and mentions nothing about only using them during auto-x. People DO run R compounds on the street
