I don't think that is the case. The fact is that this guy can't figure out PCM codes and wheather or not he can work with them is the issue. Any one can tune these cars if they have the right software, but this guy seems to be hung up on the most basic part of the process

Bosch plugs = bad Autolite or motorcraft = good

I think you sorta skipped a step in your efforts to find more power. You went straight to modifying (dyno tuning) rather than having regular maintenance done first. Check out the duratec maintenance section.

are you saying that he will charge you 375 for the xcal2 then another 399 for the tune? I believe most offer the xcal2 with a tune for about 375, or at least the place I looked into does

Without seeing how your car reacts at 5k rpm's, it's hard to say if it's maintenance issues, or tuning issues. Does the car just fall on it's face at 5k? I guess my question is, why do you think that it isn't pulling like it should? What are you comparing it to?

As for tuning, go to www.sctflash.com and enter your zip code on the right side, and how far you are willing to travel. It will pull up a list of SCT dealers, some of which will have websites and dyno shops. Get ahold of them and see if they are able to tune your vehicle. A quality dyno shop won't request that you purchase an Xcal2, unless you need more than one tune. If you plan to stay N/A, and are done with your mods, then just get one dyno tune and be finished. SCT dealers will have the software needed, and be able to tune your car without the Xcal2.

over 5k it seems like ot has a lock of power I compare it to my integra (I had one a while ago) I dont know anymore i wonder if it is normal

I went to the web site and I looked within 50 miles I guess I have to go to 100 miles. everybody within 50 miles except this one guy who told me that I need xcal
anyways I just needed to find out from you guys in oder not to make any errors.

I wonder
If I buy xcal from arizona dyno chip cam I program it by myself?

or any other website

thank you

Comparing it just to a high revving 4 banger is probably not best. My svt runs fine but doesn't have the same high rpm pull my escort does, almost making it feel slower even though it's much quicker. It's getting its work done evenly through the rpm, while most 4 bangers have to be revved pretty high to really go.
