I'm considering getting the FR Intake Manifold, but I can't find it anywhere. It's on backorder, or something.

Apparently Foci have to do some modifications to get it to fit, and I believe I read somewhere that it was originally designed for the ZX2. So, does that mean that it would bolt right up to my '99 Cougar VCT Head? I know the throttle body has to be changed.

If anyone has one they would be willing to part with please PM me.

Unless you are making a ton of power....you don't need it.

I'm pretty sure that it was built to fit the FRPP head. In order to fit it to a stock Zetec head, you have to add material to the mounting points and re-drill them. McNews Automotive can do it for you. They can also modify it for a Focus throttle body. (The intake was built to use a 70mm 4.6L '96-'01 Mustang Throttle Body.)

Have you checked out Steeda, NewEdgePerformance, and McNews? I doubt that they are all out. Plus there are a couple eBay stores that have them all the time.

Also, putting the intake on a stock head will only help a little. It would be best to pair it up with either the FRPP head or the FocusSport/Cosworth head.

BTW, good luck with the boost. Keep us updated.

Later,
BP

I had oversized valves put in my stock head and had some porting work done. So, I'll be sticking with that head.

I'm not expecting a huge power difference with the aluminum FR manifold. I just want to get it so I don't have to worry about breaking the stock plastic manifold. From what I've heard they can probablly only handle 15-18 psi, and that is around the amount boost I plan on running.
