As far as I know, no warranty what-so-ever is offered by TH and his transmissions. The only warranty available, is the specific part warranty's. (like, Torsen has a ___warranty, and if that fails, it's under warranty) Anyways, I am working on getting a free TH tranny from the dealership where I bought my car, since my tranny (still to be diagnosed) has just messed up. Under my drivetrain warranty, they will replace it if necessary. They searched for a reman. and new tranny for the car and could not find one (no idea why not, but hell, who cares). I told them HMS Inc. is building me an engine and they said as long as it comes with a warranty then they will probably allow me to use that.
If there is no warranty for the tranny as a whole from Terry, what are the warranties on the individual parts that go into it? And wouldn't this make almost everything warrantied in some way? I'm calling Terry tomorrow to see what he has to say on the issue.

Who cares how expensive Terry's Trans Warrenty price would be, since your still under your drivetrain warrenty, they will pay for HMS's warrenty on the trans!!!

They will and they are assuming that is the problem. (so far 2 techs and the service manager think so, but don't know for sure til they take it down). The thing is, the service manager said the only way he could do it would be if terry offered at least a 12 month warranty on it. I was thinking of either having terry write something up, and just making the deductible the cost of the trans (so it has a warranty, its useless, but its a warranty) or seeing if the service manager will let me waive the warranty and assume all responsibility for it. Hopefully, that will work.

From T:
Well this guy hasn't told me what 'appears' to be
wrong with his trans ,also appears the dealer has no
clue(no suprise here!)what is wrong with the
trans.Ford CAN supply a reaman trans(2000>V6 Cougar is
the listing).Runs just over $2000 + a $700 core charge
so the dealers comment about the 'can't find a reman'
is bunk!.On the quote form we send out to all
customers are our 'terms and conditions',these also
appear on our final invoice etc.We will not act as
middle men in a warranty. If the powertrain warranty
company demand a 'Genuine Ford Unit' then we will 'no
quote' the job.We only deal direct with the
customer...not awarranty company or the 'dealer'.TH

I think what the dealer is looking at is a warranty so that if something breaks they can pass their labor charges to replace it back to Terry rather than eating the cost themselves. So that isn't cool and if I were him I wouldn't agree to that.
Terry, could you provide some warranty that guarantees the parts and labor for internal transmission but with no liability for labor of installation? I suppose since they are paying for it you could add another $500 onto the cost of your transmission for the warranty service and of course require a core on top of it.

Well, if this can all work out with the exception to the warranty, I will try and take liability for the tranny from TH. I understand entirly why TH does not want to be a middleman and why he doesn't want to work with dealers and warranty stuff. It is a hassle and a pita, and despite any problems, a dealer will try and say the builder was at fault regardless. My idea's to work with the no warranty would be to warranty me directly, and give me a deductible of the cost of the entire tranny, or let me assume all liability from the dealer. So if something DID happen, I would be sol.
