is there any off-the-shelf bigger capacity heavy duty radiators and fan upgrades available over there in the USA? i got a modified mondeo and theres nothing available here in UK unless i pay loads of money to have a custom one made up.

SVT rad. is our upgrade for those w/o one. Nothing else will even fit I don't think!

The SVT radiator is about 40mm thick (1.7") About $200 new US$.

i got a mondeo ST24 V6 radiator with the twin fans to put on mine, but when i looked at my rad it was already the thicker type and the hoses were a different configuration so i didnt bother with it

There's enough room to fit about 1-1/2" larger radiator, but it would put it up against the U shaped lateral support and would block air from that section of radiator. If that support was tubular and was angled more forward, then you could. I've never thought about doing this though

Where it actually gets hot (read: Phoenix) even the SVT radiator isn't ideal, though it is usually adaquate. Mid-summer with the A/C on and stuck in traffic... the heat even over powers the highspeed fans. I replaced the oil/water cooler with an oil/air cooler.. so I'll see what difference it makes this summer.

I'd like to get a fan set up of 2 fans, instead of the one big fan I have. and now add that on to the SVT radiator.

Do they even make performance fans for our cars?

The SVT dual fans should work for you.

Will a slightly lower temp thermostat and some water wetter or similar product not work for you?

During spirited driving with my zetec, a svt, and a v6 cougar, only the cougar had coolant boiling over. My zetec (180 thermostat and water wetter) would get hot but only because the high speed fan failed to kick it when it should. The svt had no problems. I'll find out next month if my svt does the same, but so far I have not seen it get above mid-ways on the stock coolant temp gauge (about 192 actual ECT).

phil, just a thought is it possible to mount a second rad behind the first and connect them somehow it would mean more coolant in the system to take the heat away from the engine
maybe the rear most rad wouldnt get cooled enough though thinking about it, i'll shut up now me and my ideas

hmm... that is an interesting idea. I wonder if a non-SVT radiator could fit in front of the condenser. Or fit the non-svt rad in between the SVT rad and the condenser... assuming the other rad has the condenser hooks.
