Even better! Dearborn is like 15 minutes away from my house... 8 minutes away once my new CSVT is on the road! ... $400 for the labor seems pretty reasonable to me.
Thanks!
Jeff
He's in Grand Rapids. Old Beltline Rd and 7 mile. Been there many times now.
technically, i think he's in rockford. but same difference!
Oops, I sent him an email asking him if I can drop off/pick up the engine because he is in Dearborn so close to me! I guess 2 hours isn't that bad either.

Ive been e-mail him about prices with for my trans. I think mines going to come out to 1870 with the torsen, slick shift, koated klog box. Labor is 450 as of 3 days ago. For people who have had him rebuild their trans, do you think I should get the "Koated Klog Box"?

DHL better get here soon! Mine should have been here last friday and I'm getting impatient. I got the tower mod, slick shift, coatings, and Torsen. Mine cost about $100 more, but that's because I bought a Torsen on Ebay and payed $600 for it because I couldn't wait. I also had him install a Ford OEM slave cylinder. I didn't want to worry if the Spec one was going to work.
I would get everything done if you are paying a flat fee for labor.

Everyone seems to love his transmissions, but yeah it can cost a bundle! You can pick up a low mileage 3L for $500! But it costs $2000 for the trans you already have to be upgraded! That is obviously because the parts for it are so expensive. Terry's labor charge doesn't seem to bad, especially since he knows these trans better than almost anyone else!

Thanks for the correction! When I wrote that I thought about the guys who actually designed and built the MTX-75. Now they should know the trans!

I just got the BAT Euro trans and had Terry do the turret mod. I dont power shift, but wanted it for piece of mind. I will be installing a Torsen along with a flywheel/Stg. 1 combo. And plan on a mild 3L this winter. So I didnt think I needed anything else. The BAT deal is a great buy. -tropictour

Less than $2k for a TH-built tranny is a steal. You can pay that and more for a "stock" unit that will have the same weaknesses as the one you're replacing.
