Stupid question but here it goes. I'm finishing up the 3l and had a few escape oxygen sensors laying around. Is there any difference in construction between upstream and downstream oxygen sensors. (The escape upstream sensors were able to plug into the contour downstream wiring harnesses)

Due to a little bit of funky running I have reason to believe this was a bad decision, but I want to make sure I am not chasing gremlins in the wrong place.

I thought the sensors were universal 4 wire buggers. I have some universal bosch o2's that I actually had to splice connectors on to. I really don't think it should matter.

Anyone know what I can use to plug the O2 sensor, using MSDS headers in the 95 - no O2 required and I dont think I have the old O2's laying around anymore.....

Motor is in car so welding is out

A bolt ground really short. Not sure of the size but just use the )2 as a reference and test out a few bolts till you find one with the same thread (overlay the bolt onto the thread on the O2 sensor and if they mesh perfectly you found the bolt) then test out the bolt and see if it screws in . Once you confirm that cut/grind it down so the thread is 1/2" (max) long and reinstall with some anti-seize ont he threads.

Well it appears the oxygen sensors are working beautifully, now I am having big throttle hang issues.

That is especially odd since Todd has had the same issues on his full oval port 3l as well.

Anybody have insight?

When is the throttle hang!? I have some issues, but in my SCT software derek played with the dashpot decay rate. My biggest issue is hanging between 2k and 1k RPM's

It's everywhere, you know I am on the stock tune so obviously the decay rate is not my problem.

My guess is one of the lines is allowing too much air to flow into the i/m, possibly keeping the engine high the in the rev range? My guess is that the engine uses airflow first in conjunction with the tps to adjust the afr, so possibly with too much air entering after the tb plate is closed, the engine is staying at the shift rpm by just keeping afr at stoich.

You would think though that the tps would kick off the ddr to ease the engine down in the rpm range.

Hmn
