So, you may have seen my post in pics and vids... I got a set of 4 speakers from the junkyard for $20... A set of 3-way kenwoods and a set of 3-way pioneers... Now, my question is, which should I put in the front and which in the back??

The Kenwood model is: KFC-6808C
The Pioneer model is: TS-A6870R

Here's a pic...

look up the specs for the two pairs you've got there. if they've got the same RMS wattage, whichever has the higher max, i'd put up front. if they're different RMS, whichever is lower in the front, as you'll want that to be clearer no matter what.

I have those same Pioneers. Pretty decent speaker, but just wasn't enough for me.

I had them in all 4 doors but I replaced the front with Infinity Kappa 682.7cf, which was 100 times better than the Pioneers. Infinitys in the front and Pioneers in the rear sounds really awesome. Rears are coming soon.

Since the Kenwoods are almost the exact same specs as the Pioneers, the only way to tell which one will go better in the front/rear, is to test it out for yourself.

Pioneer and Kenwood are neck and neck in quality.

why don't you put one set of speakers on the driver side and vise-versa. That would be sweet... I'm kidding.

Find out the RMS rating and go from there.

I hooked them up and the Pioneers seem much more sensitive so im gonna give them a try. Im tempted to drop them both on ebay and get a set of Alpine or Infinity's for the fronts...

Try each set in the front doors, and keep the pair that sounds the best. Then sell the others because you don't need them. Rear speakers are not good in the factory locations in our cars anyway.

Using RMS to pick which ones to put up front is silly. How they sound is what matters, not how much power they handle.

I just installed a pair of the Pioneers in my front doors. It's a temporary measure. My new Clarion deck had blown the stockers, and I don't have the money yet for the 6x9 Infinity Kappas I want.

That being said, the difference between the stocks and the Pioneers is like night and day! It seems to be a decent mid-range speaker. And reading your other post regarding the speakers, you got a helluva deal! Didn't you say you got both sets for $20 total? Nice find!
