i've got this k & n filter... K&N RU-1785
Would I benefit from cutting the end out?
i have a piece of filter that i would use on the end

If you are talking about the black part, you will do more harm than good cutting it out.

But if I read correctly he is going to cover the hole with a piece from another filter. But I stilll wouldn't see the bennefit from doing that thou.

I still have that fitting piece that joins the stock airbox from the fender. Should I just cut that out?

I would just leave the part there, unless it is in the way or something.

i don't think that would do anything, i did not even see that much of a difference from stock to cone filter, the sound mostly, i took all the stock plastic stuff out and ran a hose from the bumper to the filter to improve the flow.

Are you talking about the black factory piece in the fender which directs the cold air to the intake? If so, that piece unbolts, why cut it off? And to answer your question, IMO I would leave it there unless it is in the way, like i said it is meant to direct the cold air to the filter.

he means the cap at the end of the intake. And no, cutting off would do nothing, the whole point of a filter is to filter the air.. why cut off the end and let un-filtered air enter the Manifolds?
