First time soon to be Contour owner in MI. ..I'll be buying a '97 4cyl. for $400...The body and all is in great shape, but the last owner cracked the head. What do you guys suggest I do to improve the drive ability of my new 4-banger?
Yes, I know I should be more performance minded...but for now this will be a daily driver,140 miles a day, 5 days a week.... It's enough to drive me .
Please

Replace the head.

Welcome, there is tons of info here as you'll find. You'll want to be more specific though. Have you already replaced the head? What other driveability issues does the car have, that you know of?
