well, i was on I-4 yesterday and i was doing an excessive speed and there was a hill coming up, so when i got to the hill i gently accelerated to compensate and then i just got on it. when i got going about 7 mph faster than i was going i felt this pull kindof like when you hit the speed limiter. i pulled over and popped my hood. well, my engine's oil pressure must have been too high or something because my oil breather threw up oil all over my engine, it was way overheated and now there's a knock. so my question is what the hell did i do?

"oil pressure must have been too high", then "oil breather threw up oil all over my engine," Lost lubrication for the engine.

"it was way overheated and now there's a knock." Spun bearings.

Engine rebuild in the near future.

If you have the time or money and actually want to keep your car, this sounds like a perfect time to "upgrade" the engine. If you replace the parts, get better performing ones. If you replace the engine, you should know what to do with it.

I would go with a new car. Unless you really want to keep your tour.

well, since i don't really need the car to commute to work, i'm thinking about dropping in a 2.5L or a 3.0L if i can find one in good shape at a reasonable price. i pretty much determined it's rod knock plus some other stuff. just wanna make sure everything'll fit. the CD4E will bolt up to the 3L or the 2.5L right?

Look in the bajillion threads about this already.

It's 100 times easier to buy a car that already has the v6 and just sell your junk.

And no, the zetec cd4e bellhousing is not the same as the duratec cd4e bellhousing. And, automatics = the suck.
