A note from Terry...
I'll assume you have sworn a few times getting it out BUT before you replace it I suggest you do this:-
*Remove the alternator bracket from the cylinder block *On the side that is threaded for the bolts drill out the holes for a clearence *Get two longer bolts and lock nuts that will pass right throu from the fender side and accept locknuts on what was the original bolt head side *Tap back the two sliding(tight!) bushings in the bracket to allow added width when you slide the new alternator in *Refit the bracket to the block *Slide the new, longer bolts thru from the fender side *Place the locknuts on the other side and tighten them up *With this mod you will have less issues with removing/changing an alternator in the future. Also a worthwhile mod whenever you have the engine out....
