When all of you who have installed WR headers or for that matter MSDS headers how much louder did your exhaust get?
Since you are removing the precats I'd imagine it's going to get a little louder, but is it going to be annoying loud?

Gutting them wont make it that much louder, doing headers however will.

I gutted my precats, noticed a tiny change in sound.
Then I put on headers and noticed a tiny change in tone.
I'm not sure whats going on, or if I'm just crazy. But I do not understand the people that say, it makes such a big difference in noise...

i have headers and y pipe with a stock svt exhaust and it was too quiet for me so i took my resonator off. now i think it is perfect. deep mellow idle and not too loud well im on it hard

It does make them louder and change the tone a bit. It really doesnt get that much louder. A bit, but nothing big by any means. Definitely makes the exhaust note have a little grunt to it.

ive driven a stock Contour and then my car and there is no comparison, the car is just nuts with headers. And yes, it will make it deeper and mellower and louder (no V8 sound here boys)

Yea I was just wondering because I already have a Borla catback system on my car and I just wanted to know if it was going to get insane loud with the WR headers and y-pipe I plan on putting on here in a few weeks.
I put side pipes on my Camaro a while back and it was very nice to begin with, but it has just become annoying now and I plan to strip it off and redo the exhaust. So I just want to make sure that when I start modifying the Contour I don't make the same mistake. Since I'm not removing the primary cat I can't imagine it would get to loud.

when i installed my msds it didnt get much louder caus ei had a dynomax super turbo muffler. now that i have just a glass pack and strait pipe to the rear its pretty loud. when i had the rear section dualed it was realy loud. the muffler i run now is a 28 inch thrush glasspack. it has a good strait internal design and is only $20 from jegs real good to use as a resonator . it has a nice rumble. i actualy have a 2.5 inch cat instead of the stock cat wich might make a sight difference.

The Borla is already really quiet, this wont make it that much louder.
