I have spent quite a bit of time searching this forum to get the information to do the swap. I have a 2000 SVT and am putting a new Tarus engine in. Here is a list of the parts ordered and the mods ready to go in. if anyone can think of anything else I should get or do please let me know? I am not going to do the differential now because of the $1500 extra cost, hopefully I dont regret that laterbut the svt trans only has 24,000 on it.

I have a couple questions after reading the new post by Todras that just went up?

I am not changing the cams and am keeping in the Taurus cams. So there is no reason for me to get new connecting rod bolts, rod bearings, timing seal and timing gaskets on the list right?

Also the SVT is a 2000 and the Taurus engine is a 2004 so
1. I need to have the fuel rails brazed correct?
2. I need to have the throttle body bracket brazed also correct?

Little confused on this after reading and just want to clarify.

What do the cams have to do with the Rods/etc? If you dismantle the bottom end, then you should replace the bearings, and there are tons of TTY bolts on the bottom end. and I'd suggest using the SVT cams...

As I understand it all I need to replace is the oil pan and pickup on the bottom end. So why would I need to replace rods bolts and bearings on a brand new engine?

If your using the 3L fuel rail and junk, I believe so. No idea on the TB.

I'm doing my 3L different from yours, so I'm not very educated on your version.

Reason im keeping the Taurus cams in is I think the car will be quicker on the street because the taurus cams reach peak horsepower and torque faster. I know I will probably not have as much peak horsepower as the svt cams.

Because the rod bearings should be inspected for scoring. If you're in there you might as well replace them with a better bearing. That's why everyone states to use Clevite's. It's only an additional $60 for peace of mind.

Tasso, you wouldn't be Greek perhaps (you have the same name as me at first glance).
