hey guys i hav ea quick question?
HOW DO YOU UNBOLT the crankshaft pully on 1996 GL 2.0 DOHC
I need to change timing belt pullys and i need to take crankshaft out first inorder to get to pullys

no you don't


edit: ok you said pulley in the one sentence, so I assume you're trying to remove the dampner.

you need air rachet or a REALLY strong screw driver and a rachet. air tools would be more wise and alot less headache trying to get it off.

to remove the bolt on the crank pulley it is best to use air tools. you also need to put the MTX in gear and step on the brake, or jamb the flywheel with a screwdriver for the ATX, point is to keep the engine from turning when you remove the bolt. then you need a damper puller to get the pulley off the crank.

mine always came off by pulling on it

Same here. I never needed special tools to pull stuff off my Contour.

I used some vicegrips and I think it was an 18 MM socket... But some patience - it comes right off
