I was talking to a Ford mechanic about the SAFC and he said that it wouldnt work on my car because the computer would relearn the changes too quickly for me to benefit from them. Is this true? Its a 96 SE V6 MTX

no you'll have way more time than that....it'll take you a little while just to get it dialed into were you want it....ask demon or warmonger, they'll know

The SAFC is great for tuning full throttle air fuel ratio in small ranges, say 10-15% max. 20% change in fuel is too much to use an SAFC/eManage in my opinion so if you need that much adjustment then don't use it.

As far as learning, if you only use the SAFC to tune the WOT settings then it will work fine and not be 'learned out'.
If you try settings at less than WOT then they will be trimmed out a bit or even all the way by the stock computer as the computer will always attempt to get the fuel mixture to what is was programmed to be, up to +/- 25% I think.
Anyway, if you are using a hacked maf(bad idea), slightly bigger injectors(less than +/- 15-20% ), or just want to fine tune the WOT fuel mixture then an SAFC will work.
