Is it possible to put in a 2.3 in the contour to replace the 2.0. Or are these parts interchangeable. Such as 2.0 head on a 2.3 motor. etc etc. Be interesting to see. Ive been doing research past couple days cuz I am curious about the 2.3, but havent found much more then just forged bottom end stuff, and what not for the 2.3 and 2.0. They look like same motor just different stroke? 2.3 new motor to me so im not up to par on those motors yet. I know of a j-yard with totalled focuses with those motors, so I am wondering the worth on messing with the 2.3 and what is changable between the two motors if anything is.

PS did a search in forums and no one has even mentioned anything about putting a focus motor into a contour, find that odd.

thats a big negatory without major fabrication/modification. The 2.3L is more mazda then it is ford, pretty much a completely different engine. Although it would be pretty sweet...

could of sworn i searched there, but hey no one is perfect Those motors look similiar platform, thats why I was asking if the head could be swapped, or certain parts. Ive seen mega upgrades for those motors. I know the 2.0 is limited to being stroked due to piston valve clearance. Imagine the possibilities with the 2.3 in the contour, and whats funny is i read that post and guy was like just go by a Mazda, ok sure, but why be like everyone else out there and own this car for that motor, Tryin to be original on what can be or cannot be done to the contour since I think its a decent car, It looks tough especially with the spoiler on it.

Isn't the 2.3l a continuation of the 2.3L that was in the Pinto and Mustang II many years ago? Ford had it way before Mazda. But, they might have changed it, that is why I am asking.
