I just realized that the transmission mount on the drivers side on my SVT snapped clear off it's bolt and needs to be replaced. The mount and bushing itself looks brand new and can definitely be reused.

Whats left of the bolt is still in the bushing housing and can be pulled out and a new bolt put in. This is all that i need done and should be a quick fix if i had my tools with me which i don't so i called the dealership. I searched about this issue and apparently it's fairly common and requires you to pull the old bolt out and screw the new one in. A 15 minute job....

or so you would think.

Deal quoted 1.5 hours at $150 labour and then $125 for a new transmission mount.... what a joke.

Does anyone know of a reputable shop around Weston/401 or the airport area that can manage something like this at a fair price?

I still can't get over the fact they are charging $100 labour.

Oh ya, and on top that... the guy is like... "we're going to have to drill out the subframe"... and i'm thinking... it doesn't even ATTACH to the subframe!

Honestly? If you don't have your tools, CT has a sale on the cheapy "Jobmate" wrenches, a decent sized set for $12 or some such....I would buy what I needed to do the job. You still come out ahead from having someone else do it.

No my shop rate is one of the lowest in the area @ $75/hr for an independent shop were as some dealerships are well over $100/hr. But I am way down here in Windsor. I know that doesn't help you much but if anyone in Windsor needs someone.......
