Well its about time to get the tour Dyno'd.
I have the opportunity to get it Dyno tuned with an Xcal 2 for about 100 bucks, my current mods are: Intake, Headers, Ypipe, Catback, JUST cleaned UIM.
Is it worth it to get the car dyno tuned with the Xcal?

For 100 bucks...that is down right cheap! I am paying 50$(SZ06) just to dyno with no tune. Now how much time are you going to get on the dyno and who is doing the tune!?

Is it worth it? If your tuner knows what he's doing, YES.

If the tuner knows what hes doing, thats a steal.
My first tune cost $500 and then $200 for any tune after that.

My question is, what other software are they using, other than the Xcal2? I'm assuming you'll be responsible to purchase the Pro Racer Package, as you can't tune the car with just the Xcal2. The PRP is a ~$250-$300 option on top of the Xcal2, and is VIN locked to one vehicle. The dealer package is quite pricey, so I'm hoping they have this software available at their shop.

A top notch commercial dyno tune shop will have that software/equipment and a dyno and the knowledge/experience to make this worthwhile. If they want to make you buy equipment needed for them to do this job, that implies they are rookies or amateurs. If they are serious, they WILL have what they need.

That's exactly right. I was just confused as to why he needed the Xcal2 for a dyno tune, unless someone he knew had access to a dyno, but no software. Either way, he's not going to get far if all he has is an Xcal2.

Actually, if someone has loaded a tune on the xcal and you get the xtreme tuning capability then you have some options with it. I was able to help someone out with the same code as me with some mods.
I feel confident now that I can tune any N/A or Turbo or Nitrous Contour duratec now.
