I ordered 2 new tires for my SVT and was wondering if they should go on the front or back? I believe its the back but I want to make sure. They are Kumho Ecsta MX's in 225/45/17. They are going on my FSVT wheels once I get them back from getting powdercoated black!

I would say the rear until they're broke in (500 miles), then put them suckers on the front, or just put them on the front to start with. How worn are the other 2 tires?

The front tires always wear faster than the rears provided the car is aligned properly.

my understaning is that you put the fresh tires on the drive wheels, so in this case it would be the front

Assuming you have MX's on right now, put them on the front. What are the other two tires, and what kind of shape are they in?

Skrilla are you using 225's right now as it is?

I just put some 225's on and Im still rubbing in the rear (even after doing the FAQ rolling trick). Trying to figure out where its coming from.

The other 2 tires are MX's also. They are the same size. The other 2 are in pertty good shape still.

About the rubbing its prob that blade in the wheelwell. My SE has that bad. SVT ain't too bad with it. Gonna pound both them in one of these days!

If the others are in good shape, I'd put them on the front.

The recommendation for putting new tires on the rear was because you want to lose traction in the front first as it's easier to control than having the back end come out. But if the other tires are good, they'll have better traction than the fresh front two.

In any case, just don't overdrive it and you'll be fine.

from working at multiple tire stores there are a couple opinions on this.
1. put the best tires on your drivewheels OR
2. put the best tires in the rear incase of a fishtail situation. most people would react more safely to a slide vs a fishtail...

my opinion if you arent a retard and dont overcorrect if your rear end starts to slide, then put em in the front and go on.

Yeah we always put them on the front.

If for no other reason, because off everyone's always said to put them on the front, and doing so keeps the customer from coming back and us having to move them.
