i have a 99 contour can anyone tell me where i can find the place to hook up a tester to see why engine light is on. auto zone said there wasnt any place to hook the tester on too . they said it isnt under the drivers side dash.

It's there - they're retarded.
It's on the far left side of the underside of the dash. Run you hand down the underside panel of the dash and just as you pass under the lip, you'll feel it right there.
