I am having a problem in deciding whether or not I can put this trailer hitch kit on my 96 contour? The main problem is that I have the SVT dual exhaust on my car and am not sure whether or not this will cause problems with installation? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? just curious. The exhaust should not be in the way for the hitch installation. There are a few people who have even put a hitch on an SVT.

Should I get this hitch kit though or possibly one for a newer model &/or SVT so that it will not interfere w/ the exhaust pipes?

Whatever fit's a '96 should work.
The hitch has to attach inside your tow points, which is 'inside' the exhaust pipeing
EDIT: Looking closer it looks like it may mount to the bumper studs. In which case you may have clearance issues.
The only way to tell may be to just see if it fits.

I'll check under the 'stiqe tonight to see if there should be enough clearance baised on the drawings.

I just had a look, and I don't think that hitch will work. The passengerside muffler will be in the way. Looks like your original concern was correct.
Sorry about the miss-information. 
There should be other hitches out there that will work though.
