Currently I've spliced the harness connectors but not sure about this last one wire due to terminology used.

I have from the stereo a blue/white wire labelled AMP REM, which the directions refer to external amp.

I have on the harness a blue/white line labelled AMP TURN ON.

With the standard factory set-up should these two be spliced together ? I am sure they do.

Yes, if you are connecting to the factory "premium sound" amp located behind the glovebox. Otherwise, connect "amp rem" to your system's amps.
