Rap is good for one thing, and one thing only. To bring the whore out of every lady. Yep. Throw in some booze, turn the lights down and crank up "Shake dat azz b! tch and lemme see what you got!" and every woman in the place will flock to the dance floor and turn into a whore, grinding anything within sight. It's nice for that... for us dirty sumbishes that just wanna get a chick worked up and ready to go...so we can show them what we got. Think about it, if in the daytime you wnet up to a 18-30 y.o. chick, you know typical club-going girl, and said "shake that ass b! tch and let me see what you got!" You be on the ground nursing a set of smashed testicles. Yet in a club it's perfectly fine. Ridiculous!
Rap is garbage, and like Doug said, Techno is king everywhere else in the world. Why? cos there's less black people (%'age) in most countries than America and hence the main audience is missing. Techno has the same effect everywhere else in the world, yet doesn't STOOP to having to call women, bishes, ho's, sluts, shortys, pigeons, skanks, baby-mommas etc. Yet people enjoy it and for the most part, techno songs have a POSITIVE message.
If people wanna enjoy rap. Good for them. But PLEASE don't call it for anything other than what it is. Degrading, violent, subversive, hypocritical crap

WOW STAZI you my friend live in a sheltered world. what artist are you reffering to? if you are 100% sure that all rap songs downgrade women and depicts violence then you must not listen to alot of rap. dont believe me then here are a couple of artist to listen to. talib kweli,common,mos def. there is a good and bad to everything in life. it just so happens that gansta rap and all the other garbage is considered the mainstream. it is so true that people can only focus on the negative attention but try something positive it never gets mentioned.
i cannot believe that techno is supposed to be the music of the world. now how many of you individuals have traveled the world to be able to say that techno reigns suprememe. please show me a worldwide sound scan report,or tell me how many of these countries you guys been to. i have traveled to so many different places and i know that rap is up there but its not the main thing that is listened to and i know techno is not up there either.
everyone in this forum have a right to say what they want to say but i get annoyed when people talk out of there butts. lets talk facts, not what you might see on t.v

I�ve been to Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland, England, Poland, Hungry, Greece and the Netherlands. I can tell you what music is not being played in clubs there... rap. You really don't have much of a clue if you think that techno is not the king of club music EVERYWHERE else other country that isn't the USA. Before you ask� yes, I�ve actually been inside clubs in 5 of those 9 countries.

Do you really think rap is poplaur because black people listen to it. I really hope you are smarter than that. Have you ever been to a hip hop or rap show? If you give white kids a choice to go see Young Jezzy or Kanye West or go see Moby or any other techno show see where they go. By the way all rap is not degrading please next time you you talk please educate yourself then talk.

Well, in my group of friends we choose to go see the techno artist. Yes, lets please compare old dj's to new rappers. Thats like me saying do you want to go see Paul Van Dyke or Mystikal....
But anyways, I've been to a few rap shows: dre, snoop and busta (my favorite). But I have to say that the dj's put on a better show. Tiesto has been the hands down best show i've been to, of any music genre.
