Alright, if you read my previous post I couldnt get the old Clarion aftermarket HU out. Well I finally did. The wiring is a mess. I cant make sense of it, nor can any of my friends. The only wires that were going to the old HU were ground(black), power(red) and an unknown yellow wire. Im completley lost, and ive done tons of HU installs before. It almost looks like they startd wiring it, then gave up. Any help would be nice. Thanks.

They probably ran an amp, so they used RCA cables to run the "sound" to an external amp. Are you using the HU to power the speakers, or do you have an amp? If not, find wires on factory amp under dash, splice onto new speaker wires out of new HU. Hook 12+, mem, and ground wires up to new HU as they were on old HU.

go to your local audio shop and get a wiring harness, and lots of speaker cable, you might just be better off getting another amp.

I was just going to use the HU to power the speakers. There are 2 sets of RCA cables but they run off to the left under the dash, not to the right. And i looked in the trunk and theres a 6 disc changer BUT the cd magazine is gone.

hmmmm yeah then you're probobly going to have to run speaker wire to all the doors, it's possible that there are still factory wires there but doubtful. its no problem to do so though, all you have to do is wire the speakers to the wire harness on the HU. It should just hook right up to the wires coming off the back of the HU.

Ya Id probly EBAY the magazine. Arent the power wires ran to the back or where dude had the amp mounted? what did he take the speaker wires out?? that would be a waste of time I think. where are the power wires? He left the RCAS but yanked the ground and power AND speaker wires.....Id like to kick that guys dog if he did that. Look under the front seats, you might find a surprise.

well i didnt even think about looking under the seat, so i did, and sure enough its wired for an amp. i seen this after i guess and check about a 1000 wires behind the radio till it worked. thanks for the help.
