hi i did a search but could not find what i was looking for.i have had problems with my low speed fan not coming on .is there a way to test a waterpump just to see if its working. will a bad waterpump cause the fan not to work. the reason i ask is because i have already replaced both sensors and the sensor on the bottom of the fan mount.all wires are getting power to them all relays are fine.if i turn the air or heat on both fans run.the car runs on the A or L most of the time when i see it going up i turn on the heat/air.with warm weather coming on fast i must fix this now.so is it the waterpump or did i overlook something. i tried to find the problem before i posted so any help i will be thankfull for.

Let me say a few things, hopefully it will answer your questions.

ΓΆβ?¬ΒΆ A bad wp will not take out the fan.
ΓΆβ?¬ΒΆ Changing the wp is a med-high on the difficulty scale.
ΓΆβ?¬ΒΆ A bad wp will usually either leak, or show up as higher engine temps (especially under engine load).
ΓΆβ?¬ΒΆ Turning on the AC will turn on both fans ΓΆβ?¬β?? unless one is bad or not getting power.
ΓΆβ?¬ΒΆ If your comfortable and know DC circuits, you can trouble shoot the fan by jumpering 12 VDC straight to it and it should come on.

both fans work with air/heat on.the pump is not leaking but the lower hose on the radiator is .heat works fine and i read somewhere that if the pump goes out that there is no heat. also i can start the car from a cold start and a mile or two into the drive it goes up to the A or L.

changing the water pump on a post 98 is simple.. you don't have to take the timing belt off like you do on a pre-98.

im starting to think the maine problem is my fans. cant get them to come on when the cars warms up.if i pull the green relay in the fuse box under the hood the fans stop working but if i pull the black one nothing stops working.is that the way that it works or does that mean the black relay is bad.please any help or ideas.

Ok i just put a bottle of water wetter in the car and drove it about 20 min.Pulled up at home and looked at the water recovery tank and the water wetter was at the bottom of the the tank.It did not mix or run threw the system so does that mean that the waterpump is bad. If so i still have to find a way to get the cooling fans fixed. This is what i did so far. The fans will run with the ac/heat on but that is the only way thay work.Pulled the black relay with the ac on the fans did not stop working.Pulled the green relay with the ac on fans working and thay stopped.I have changed the both temp sensors.Traced the wires to the fans and found the plastic coating was cracking so i fixed that and the problem is still the same.No fans unless i turn the heat or ac on. Please i BEG someone that has had this problem to help im running out of ideas.THANKS
