all right...i've been over this 1000 times...i have been researching for about 4months now and i going to ask the question...does the 3L short block work with svt heads and cams...with out doing a valve adjustment.?? Second question...i have a 98se..about to do a 3L swap..if the engine is 99+ i have to swich my fuel rail system...please someone just give me a strait freakin' answer...thanks alot..

two short answers.
1) Yes, block needs to be modified. Its out there...in the sticky 2) No, again, that I believe is in the sticky.

ummm lets see..if your planning on doing the hybrid,than no you dont have to switch your fuel rail,since you'll be using the 2.5 heads and uim/lim,no valve adjustment needed....if you dont have svt cams i dont see why you'd go the hybrid route??? seeing how the 3l cams are about the same specs as the nonsvt duratec

The hybrid is still easier/cheaper to build for those not wanting to experiment with fuel rail disasters.

The hybrid is still easier/cheaper to build for those not wanting to experiment with fuel rail disasters.
Yep!! CHEAP and easy and still makes 30-50wHP increase depending on how bad the old engine was running. The basic one may not be "the highest performance" but it is definitely satisfying.

Yep!! CHEAP and easy and still makes 30-50wHP increase depending on how bad the old engine was running. The basic one may not be "the highest performance" but it is definitely satisfying.
And it's not even the HP that makes it the most fun, it's the 30+ foot pounds of torque at a lower RPM that a basic hybrid has over the stock 2.5's that make driving one every day a blast!
