Figured I let all u guys know that Im a newbie and building a 3.0 for use in my Svt contour. My 2.5 grenaded and found a new home at an aluminum recycler. Wanted to thank you for all the help in all of these threads and would like to let u know how easy this has really made it converting the 3.0.
Only one question, How well will this thing run on factory 19lbb injectors and a stock svt pcm with out tuning? enough to drive it to a dyno? Its a bit of a cruise to the nearest tuning facility and dont want to hurt anything. Im running a 2001 Taurus block, ported heads to match my svt upper and lower intake, svt cams, headers and stock svt exhaust minus muffler. Thnx for all the help guys

rock on for a newb that find all his info via searching!

As for the PCM question, you'll be fine with the stock program on your car.

X2!!

You'll find that the 19# injectors should be a perfectly sized injector for the 3L swap. I ran around for over 2 years on my 3L untuned, with 19# injectors. My A/F looked really good on the dyno too.

Well then, away we go.... appreciate it.... I hope to have this thing back on the road by next week. Im curious as to how it runs.. U know I just thought of another question... On the 2.5 liter heads it had individual runners all the way down to the valves, with the ported oval port heads theres open area where both valves have access to incomming air if the secondaries are closed. Does this cause any kind of additional turbulence and loss in performance? and is there a way to truly port the head to have individual runners all the way down to the valves? And is it worth it?

THere is no performance loss with the extra area. It also isn't a big deal to port down into the head on the oval, but it does help and will set your motor just that little bit above most of the swap crowd.
