You'd actually be going 1/2" smaller overall than the smallest tires to come stock on a Contour, and 1.5" smaller than the ones you have now. They'd look very small, and your speedo will read high. That's not a reason to not get them, if they are a great deal. They won't do anything bad except ride a litte harsh. The load rating is sufficient (barely), so they're safe.
Also, just to be sure, since you commented that you're a newbie in this area: will the wheels fit for sure? They have to be 4x108.
