I'm getting a rear deck mount from Steeda so I should probably start shopping around for a sub.

I'm looking into a JL Audio but no idea which one to get. It has to be 10" and works well free air. Also in case I get a rear strut tower bar, I need the space to mount it without anything getting in the way.

Vote and post some recommendations about it.

JL Audio Sub
10W1v2
10W3v2
10W6v2
10W7

If you must use any of those, I'd take the w6v2. Best sounding sub out of all of those, even over the w7. Hell, a w6v2 up to 500 watts is louder than a w7 of the same size.

But personally I'd try to find a 10IB. That's just me.

Comparing the 10IB4 vs. the 10W6V2, what the better buy?

The 10W6V2 is pricey compared to the 10IB4.

IMO, the 10IB4 would be the better choice as it was specifically designed for an infinite baffle application. You would probably have to look on ebay for one because they're discontinued.

i dont know what you guys are talking about but the w7 is far superior to the w6v2, my friend has 2 10' w7 and i can not belive how loud it is compared to some other to 10's, but personally i would go with the jbl gti 10" the only problem is the weight of the thing , but the quality is just so much nicer that the other leading brands, but im kind bias just becuase i get it 55-60% off. but i would go with the w7 if your going jl

Well I did find the 10IB4 and it's about 1/3 the price of the 10W6V2.

Should I go for it?

If you can get your hands on a JL 10IB4, I'd say definitely go for it. It will be perfect for the rear deck.

I have 2 JL 8IB4's in my front doors and I know people that have used JL 10IB4's and they are awesome at doing what they were designed to do.
