Ok first i searched, but i dunno exactly where to search for my problem n nothing sound like my case.
When i was coming back from work, after starting from a green light i floored the pedal and when i changed to the second gear around 5k i heard a grinding noise and even if i was pushing the gaz, its seem to be on neutral, no mather which gear im in its just rev without moving with a funny sound, and even if i dont press the clutch the car dont stop and i can change gear without pressing the clutch.
My dad's coming to tow my car today (after i pushed it for around a miles yesterday night)n i just want to know what could be the problem. The clutch ? the tranny ? something else ? something expensible ? its is true that the clutch is a 12 hour job on a CSVT ??
Im so depressed right now, please help me !!

Sorry to hear about your car. If you need synchros I have a brand new set from Ford still in the box that I'm getting rid of, send me a PM if interested. I even have a spare transmission as well.

lets see, you can shift it into any gear without the clutch pressed in... Im going to have to say differential. did you light up the tires on the take off?

Sounds like the infamous sheered shift tower bolt. Either that or the diff. went boom. Any holes in the case? Fluid on the ground.

If it's the bolt maybe you'll be able to fish it out my removing the shift tower. If it's the diff. then time to pull the trans. and send it to Terry for a rebuild and LSD install. Cha ching $$$$$$. Dumping the clutch in the Contour is not a wise move unless you've replaced the stock diff with an LSD.

Lucky timing, what with BAT having that big sale on new MTX-75s.

If you can move the shifter in a circle, it's definitely the bolt.
