i have a 98 contour se v6 5speed, just got it a few weeks ago with about 77k miles, and really happy with it, it's a big improvement over my last car. thinking about getting tires that stick better to the road, esp. when road is wet. btw,the car is stock as far as i can tell, except for the cd player. any replies would be great, thanks.

you might find a good amount of info in the Wheels & Tires forum on this site.

There are a lot of new tires that are better. They're no longer the econo-sporty tire of choice.

roughly $10 more per tire at tirerack.com isn't too bad....and if their perfomance is consider that much better, maybe I should get them. But then again I can get a nice set of tires brand new from my neighbor for $100....and they aren't anything to really sneeze at cause they are rated for 140 mph and I don't think I will be going that fast in the tour anytime soon with out a chip.

Those are nice tires, but I thought they wore awfully quickly.
