I was wondering, is it okay to use one of the bolts under the seat for a ground wire? Or this this be bad?

Its only for 2 small lights. I want to prove light for the rear of the car and just want to double check that there isn'g going to be a negative result.

Yes. Any metal to metal chassis contact would be a suitable ground.

I assume that you may be installing an amp. If you install something with very much power needs, you may also need to increase the size on the bonding strap or add one. The bonding strap is a grounding wire between the chasis and the engine. If you put in a killer amp, you may be overloading the rest of the ground path and you will need to enlarge it.

I grounded my power seat to one of them. Just FYI, those bolts do not come off easily.
