Pre 98 Tours,
I have a 95GL 5 speed. I want to know if anyone has a chip installed in a 95 tour. I have been told by a good friend that I may need to change my wiring harness and PCM because of the OBD-1 PCM on 95 tours, nobody makes any type of tuning solution for it. I would need to install a harness from a 96-97 Tour. I have two question:

1. Does anybody make a chip for a 95 Tour?

2. Has anyone ever done a wiring harness swap?

I've never seen one. Changing the wiring harness is not for the faint of heart.
Better off finding a nice/used SVT. Then you'll get the performance your after.

Is there a way to automatically delete these kind of posts from this forum?

There are some of us that like to work with what we've got.

Calvin, I'll compare the two wiring harnesses that I've got this weekend and see what I can figure out. I don't think that they're too hacked up. Plus I found my EVTM manual so that should make things much easier.

Ben,
I agree 100% about deleting post I also wish we could delete the search replies as well. Anyway I wrote CTA about a Diablo chip and this is what Mr. Wong wrote:

Diablosport does not make any chips for the 1995 Contours. At this time we have nothing available for your application, as Superchips too, no longer carries programs for the 95 models. You may (not 100% sure) be able to use an Xcalibrator, but we do not offer those.

Has any one heard of Xcalibrator

I kinda doubt it. I just got the xcal2 (the second version of the xcalibrator) and it's only for OBD-2 cars (96 and up).

Contact the guys at Brenspeed and see if they can verify that... sales@brenspeed.com

It doesn't hurt to ask.

Xcalibrator is OBD-II also. There really is nothing for the OBD-I guys...you could build a megasquirt system, or SDS, or just bite the bullet and swap harnesses/ECUs.
