Pulled the boot off the #1 plug to see how long an extension would be needed to change the plugs and found the the bottom covered in oil. Pulled the rest, same thing. Oil covered all but the top of every spark plug. Car ran fine but I used a spray bottle insert to pump out a cup of dark black oil from the space and used rags to soak up the remainder. I hope the oil change dealer just spilled some and I don't have a gasket issue on one or more of the two ajoining cam covers. I will check again in 48 hours to see if its seeping back in.
The engine oil is fresh but the oil in question is dark black as if its been frying in there for months. Anyone ever seen this happen?

Yup, I have this problem right now. Haven't had nice enough weather to change it. I sure hope its that and not a crack in the head.
